Review

So once again I absolutely loved this book. It was a great fast paced fun but dramatic book just like the first one. I had the whole day to my self so it was a one day reader for me which was nice cause iv been slumping a bit this month if i'm honest and I feel like this book god me back into it for the end of the month.

Aria is awesome in the sequel, she is a great fighter and a much stranger person compared to the last book where she was scared and in a new place. Now she has gotten used to it and has grown into herself. Shes not the only one who changed for the better tho, Perry is also bigger an better than what he was in the first book after becoming The new Blood Lord of the tribe. We also finally get to meet Liv, Perry's sister in this book which was cool. First impressions of her where bloody terrible she seemed like a horrible person but once she explains some reasons behind some things I really liked her.

I feel like the book had a really good ending to go in to the next one, You can kinda tell what the base of the plot is going to be but that's okay its not really a series of surprises. The ending of book two was really good, it was all hard times call for desperate measure but we are going to get though it, so in a way it was quite positive and optimistic.

If you loved the first book then you will love this one so if I was you I wouldn't hesitate to pick it up for ages like I did, I will hopefully finish this series off this month and I can tell it will go down as one of my favorite series of the year.

Review 

As book two of the Legend trilogy I think I liked it better than the first. Prodigy explained things tonnes more and fixed allot of questions and misconceptions about the world that they live in that I had. I also liked the characters a bit more we learnt more about them and where they come from, it gave them more depth and reasons behind what they do.

Absolutely loved the climax of this book it was just so bad ass and awesome I mean fighter jet, that's all I will say at risk of spoilers but yes I now want to read some more books with dogfights(as in fighter planes not real dogs because that's not okay) because hells it was just so awesome and terrifying to read about. Something else I enjoyed about the climax was it wasn't what I expected it to be, I expected it to be what the whole book is revolved around but instead it was the after math of the event which was awesome and unexpected so brownie points for that Marie Lu. The above made the ending really good but the very last thing to happen in the book is quite sad so prepare your self for that one.

If you enjoyed Legend you will love prodigy, I wish I had of picked it up sooner but oh well I cant wait to read the third and final book Champion to see how things end. Diffidently pick us this if you have read Legend or are a lover of dystopians.

Review

This is the second book of a series that I have really enjoyed and cant wait to finish. It was a fun and very enjoyable fast paced read. I really like the main character in these books shes gets on with what needs to be done to keep her self and her love ones safe and she doesn't whine about it too much. She also has a lovey steamy romance that goes on, which is to die for.

This is the only book ever where I will say I like the love triangle that's going on. The main character Anna isnt annoying about it, she knows what boy she wants so doesn't spend half the book debating and playing the 2 boys. Normally I hate love triangles, they drive me metal particularly in YA novels the female sits and debates it for half the bloody novel, but Anna knew what and who she wanted from the get go so there was none of that crap. 

I feel this book had a good mix of the cute but intense romance and all the awesome paranormal action. I really like the demon council that looks after different sins idea in this series. I thought it was a really different concept to most paranormal angel and demon books which there are allot of so new ideas for that type of book mustn't be the easiest thing in the world to think of.

I don't really have any faults for this book it was a very enjoyable read all round that I would recommend to any paranormal lover.

I have quite a hefty list of comic books and graphic novels that I want to read, and it seems to be ever growing so these are the ones I currently have on my list. I decided to lump them together in one post because they are very similar and it seemed a tad repetitive to do one post for each.

                      

Rambles: My reading story

A few years ago I used to be a very avid reader, if fact more so then I am now. I'm not sure exactly what year this was but after a while I just suddenly stopped reading I have no clue what triggered this but all I know was I hated it and it took me a very long time to get back into books and the beauty or reading and getting lost in a book. April this year was when I re decrovered reading.

It started off with a trip to the library with a friend who was a reader and of course my jealousy of her being able to do that got me to pick out a few books and try again, and I have never been so grateful of jealous steak before (probably never will be again its a demon and a half). One of the books I picked up was Acid by Emma Pass, I loved it and I have that book to thank for opening its arms and welcoming me back in to the reading world because god I missed it. I never really relised the extent of my unhappiness of not reading until the moment I was lost in Acid (that sounds strange). I feel like a gap in my life has been filled up now I am reading again and I feel more whole. I don't remember what other books I picked up on that library trip but i'm pretty sure I didn't read them because I moved on to other books and I started reading on my laptop and phone. Now I love real books and how the feel and look and smell but god dam they are awkward and heavy like I love them but hell my back cant handle that. which is one of the reasons I now own a Kobo and don't read all that many "real" books.

The next part of this story goes to goodreads. Goodreads is how I have been keeping up the habit I get such joy out of adding a book to my yearly challenge and finding all sorts of new and old books I want to read. Also making friends on there has helped me keep up the habit and staying whole and happy, oh and the groups with the readathons and the challenges all that has made reading a whole new experiance because I no longer just sit and read a book but I also talk to people about it join challenges watch booktube. its a great new reading world for me and god I love it and it makes me happy.

Rambles: Unfinished series

Why do tonnes of unfinished series suck? because they pressure you. When you think about all those series you have started but haven't finished you feel pressured to read them creating a dislike for them because of said pressure which in turn makes the "I don't want to read you right now!" feeling worse and you get further and further away from reading those last few books.

Then there is the "I shouldn't be reading this" idea. when you really want to start a new series or standalone even, but you are plagued with the feeling of all those other unfinished series and story's that you have yet to read which then makes you feel bad for picking up a book that doesn't go towards the goal of finishing those series.

I'm slowly getting though books here and there that go towards my list of unfinished series but the climb is still slow because of the fact im a mood reader and the things above affect me in a big way. I hope by the end of the year to get a few more series done or caught up on so there is a little less pressure going into the new year. One of my resolutions for that is no more than 3 unfinished series at a time compared to my 20 something at the moment.

I really liked this series it was entertaining and I enjoyed the plot and characters. It wasn't anything different but it was enjoyable to read. I loved that the main character was an air hostess, it was awesome learning more about that profession and it was cool that she was a painter on the side. One thing that really made me angry was some of the jokes about self harm. There wasn't many of them maybe one or two per book but self harm jokes are something I hate so this really put a damper on the books for me. if I didn't enjoy the story's so much I would of put the books down after I saw the first on. But over all they where interesting an entertaining books that i learnt some things from and would recommend to any romance lovers.

I gave each book 4 out of 5 stars.

Rambles: Dystopian Genre

I truly find it amazing just how much Dystopian there is in the YA genre. When i'm at my public library I swear every second or third book I pick up is a Dystopian. Now I didn't notice this when I used to read a couple of years ago so i'm assuming that the Dystopian phase bloomed while I was a my few years reading hiatus (crys) or maybe I just didn't know enough about books then to know what was Dystopian and what wasn't. I read alot of paranormal stuff back then like ALOT so maybe I just didn't notice all the Dystopian.

I think one of the first Dystopians I ever read was Uglies by Scott westerfieild and I remember loving it so I moved on to The Matched trilogy by Ally Condie (which is also awesome) I have still yet to finish these series a few years later... I need to re read and finish them at some point. Bottom line is I love Dystopian books, they are just so interesting and I love all the different takes on the world ending that people have done. but I do have to admit I do get sick of every second book I pick up being a Dystopian as these days my reading horizons are way larger than what they used to be. It also buggs me a little bit how often you will one thing in a Dystopian novel them 3 Dsytopians later you will see the same thing, I feel like a lot of the Dystopian author almost copy each other.

I wonder when this phase is going to fade out and whats going to be next? what are we going to be picking up every second book we look at? or even will the Dystopian genre fade out? or will it stay with us for ever!!(evil laughs).

And yes I know this is a very talked about and complained about topic but I just wanted to share my thoughts and wonders about the genre. Now lets count how many times I typed the word Dystopian, 13 times, hey not as much as I thought.

Movie Review: Hugo, The Invention of Hugo Cabret Adaptation

Review

Hugo is the first book to movie adaptation I have seen that I cant decide what was better, the book or the movie? I loved how the movie looked. it was realistic but fantasy at the same time. everything seemed so sparkly and glossy. I don't know why but that's just the feeling I got from the images even though it is set in a dirty train station.

I really liked the actors that they chose to play the mains I think the suited the book really well and I loved Hugo's eyes you just couldn't help stare into them. I think my favorite character in the movie was the station guard or what ever he is called and yes I know he is an ass but I just loved how they portrayed him with his leg and his dog. I love the scene where him and his dog are in the bath together and I adored how awkward he was with the flower lady.

I think the movie was a good take on the book, they didn't appear to change much and they didn't miss out any major scenes from the book. I think I learnt more about the history of George's films and film making from the movie. I think this was because I got to see it all rather than paint pictures in my head. I did find my self losing interest around the middle of the movie which sucked a little bit. Overall tho it was a great adaptation and if you enjoyed the book I would recommend this too you.

Plot

Unique is the one word I would use to describe this book. It had such a different plot to your standard rich boy and unhappy girl romance novel. I really loved this novel it is by far one of the best romances I have read. The plot is really what did it for me it was the fact that you have no idea what is really going on until the 3/4 of the book. Things are hinted at and suggested in a way that makes you think the worst of both the characters but nothing gets explained until that 3/4. This is what makes you keep reading, throughout the whole book I cant kept asked what? and why? it was unputdownable for this reason.

I also loved the characters, you have the standard handsome billionaire and the unhappy rich female that feels her life isn't complete. Yea I know sounds cheesy but in this book the characters don't seem silly. Along side these characters you have a power hungry auntie who trys to control Brant (the billionaire) and make as much money as she can. You also have a crazy obsessed female that has her nutty heart set on Brant. Overall the characters where a great mix of crazy, money and well more crazy.

I found going into this book really daunting because at the start it basically say this book will be hard to read and the story wasn't easy. I find sad romances really hard because they make my moods go nuts. so I was pleasantly surprised that is wasn't that hard for me to read so if that's what stopping you reading this you don't need to fear. I would recommend this to any romance lover or any lover of awesome plots. This book easily got into my favorites of 2014.

I hope to get at least 20 posts done and ready for posting as I haven't been very active recently it will be nice to have a back log of posts to let go when wanted. Review

This was a really interesting different contemorary read. I loved how it was told from the old authors perspective it gave it a different feel to if it had of just been from the main characters view. AT the start of the book I thought the narrator was a middle ages female author so I was highly surprised when he turned out to be a 70 old man. I felt he was a good fit for Karl’s mentor he was wise and said some really awesome things. I loved some of the quotes in this novel and wish I had of been writing them down because they really where wonderful and really made you think. There was something about Aidans writing that was really quite lovely and I think that helped with the whole making me think.

I thought the first female love interest, Fiorella was a real dick. I really didn't like her she made me mad I wish we had of gotten to know more about the second love interest. I felt she was much more suited to Karl and a much nicer and more interesting character in general.

The dying to know you title gave me the feel that somebody was going to die so for the whole novel I was expecting the worst and well it didn't come. I felt the climax was a little miffy it was good but really short and could have been so much better than it was. I also feel the cover of the book didn't fit very well. I understand the upside down fish and the blurriness but the gold fish were right to me, it was a lovey cover in fact I really liked it just not for this book.

Overall I really enjoyed this book and would love to pick up another of Aidan's work. I would recommend this to any contemprary reader who like the sadder side of the genre.
